CLASSES AT YSGOL PENMAES

The school has 11 classes. Most pupils are grouped by age and there are 4 classes specialising in pupils with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Classes are in numerical order starting with the Nursery and Class 1.

All classes have 1 full-time teacher and at least 2 full-time teaching assistant. Early Years and Primary classes may have about eight pupils, Senior classes are usually larger with about ten pupils each. Where the additional physical or behavioural needs of individual children demand extra support there will be more than one learning support assistant in the class.

There are specific staff to support integration into mainstream schools and their support classes.
